大西刀 Yi Yan Restaurant

A simple noodle dish that satisfy me much. I have seen advertisement for this particular restaurant in one of the local magazine and decided to stop by for dinner.

大西刀 Yi Yan Restaurant, Malaccan style Yong Tau Fu. 西刀 fish which is known as ikan parang in our national language, is commonly used to prepare fish balls or fish paste. I guess, this is how the restaurant was named after.

Sauces
Three types of sauces were placed in each table. Dark soy sauce and chilli sauce to mix with your noodles and sweet sauce for dipping yong tau fu,

Fish balls and tau fu pok stuffed with fish paste

Fried Fish Cake

Plain noodles are served, and you may add in soy sauce and chilli sauce according to your prefered taste. As for me, of course I prefer more chilli sauce. The taste of the noodles is similar to how it is served in most of the Malacca hawker stall.

There is nothing very special indeed, but the way the noodles prepared by 大西刀 Yi Yan Restaurant is similar to the Malacca style noodles dish. Miss Malacca food? Here is something to share with the Malaccans in KL!!
