Capital Delicious Seafood @ side lane of Jalan Kee Ann (Bunga Raya) Malacca

Jalan Kee Ann, also known as Bunga Raya is the China Town( Petaling Street ) of Malacca. Be it, day or night, you will be able to savior varrious of Chinese food here.

Few of the famous ones are- Teo Chew Porridge during day time ( I will cover this in my later post) , Fried Oyster and Wan Tan Noodles at night.

And what else? Here it is............ the cockles on the dark side lane. Stall I am covering this round- Capital Delicious Seafood (They don't really serve seafood actually)- infact the seafood serves are only cockles - see ham, lala & balitong.

P1110778

Capital Delicious Seafood @ side lane of Jalan Kee Ann (Bunga Raya) Malacca

P1110782

People waitng for seats. There are actually two stall soperating at the side lane. Heard that the first stall (Tong Bee)seems to be better. Not our luck, we were late that day and they were closed already. But then again, Capital Delicious Seafood seems good too.

P1110785

The appetizing sweet and spicy chilli sauce with shrimp paste to go with the cockles.

P1110789

Si Ham - Cockles- half boiled- just nice!

P1110793

Lala
Besides si ham and lala, there are other choices like balitong, snails and mussels too.

P1110795

Snack plate- friend bean curds skin with fist paste filling, springy fish balls top with peanuts and sweet lemon sauce and shrimp paste.

P1110798

Sotong Kangkung- Fresh boiled cuttlefish with water spinach served with same sauce as the snack plate above.

Hhhmmmm... will try out Tong Bee stall next round. Got to be early, especially weekends! No doubt, Capital Delicious Seafood is worth trying too!

Restaurant TaK Fok 得福小厨 @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

The restaurant has been going for few years and is still one of the reputable seafood house. No lavish setting with minimal decor but definitely with a comfortable environment to dine in.

Restaurant TaK Fok is also known for it's cheap seafood (crabs)!

Here's my sharing....

TF_003

Crabs with Salted Egg Yolk @ RM 22.00
Above pic -portion for 2.Tasted good, without overpowering aroma. It would be even nicer if they are big crabbies. But then again, Tak Fok is famous for it's cheap crabs dishes and if you prefer big and juicy crabs- no, not here!

TF_005

Curry prawns in coconut @ RM 26.00
Thumbs up! Thick and aromatic gravy with succulent and juicy prawns!

TF_008

HockChew (Fu Zhou) 福州 BeanCurd @ RM 9.00
A simple crispy fried bean curd but am loving it so much! The crispy layer tasted awesome!

TF_010

Stir fried Nai Bai @ RM 10.00
A vegetable dish is a must! Acting healthy?

TF_011

Salted vegetable soup with bean curd @ RM 10.00

Where to dine? Here's another suggestion for casual dining. There is another branch at Kepong. I have visited the branch in Bandar Puteri Puchong. Service was not that bad as what I have seen from net. Good Luck!

KHUNTHAI Village Authentic Thai Restaurant @ Permatang Tengah, Butterworth

And the stories goes on.....

We are leaving Penang Island and planning to have seafood outside Penang. Batu Kawan? or???
Heard so much of KHUNTHAI and why not we give it a try??

Off we go ..... to Butterworth adn after a few wrong turns, we reached!

Aren't you sick, Lu Shia? Ohhh yes I am but not for now! I am feeling much better!

And we started our lunch with, hot tom yam!

KhunThai_009

Seafood Tom Yam (S) @ RM 18.00
Nice but I have expected something more authentic- not to creamy, distinct hot and sourish.

KhunThai_010

Steamed Fish in Thai Style- Siakap @ RM 32.00
Fresh enough, taste wise- can we add a little more chilli here? Okay, we requested for something not so spicy, cause there are two non-spicy guest.

KhunThai_011

Fried Bitter bean with Shrimp @ RM 12.00
Apparently only me and sis is enjoying this dish cause we love bitter bean! Tasted good too.

KhunThai_013

Seafood Steamed with Lemon @ RM 28.00
Ahhhh... a nice one! Steamed lala clams, succulent squids and juicy prawns with lemon and crushed chilli peppers and garlic. Refreshing, appetite stimulating and satisfying!

KhunThai_014

Fried Mee Hoon (Vermicelli) with salted fish @ RM 12.00
And finally here comes our mouthwatering fried mee hoon with salted fish served with sambal belacan. Aromatic!

That's about it, it's always easier to express the thoughts especially when we are having something promising. By the way, they do have 2 branches in Selangor too! Have you tried? Do share your experience with me!

And off we go...heading back to KL!

Next day, Lu Shia woke up with a high fever and sore eyes a day after that! (-_-''')

Veg Fish Farm 2 Thai Restaurant 山水菜鱼酒家 @ Hulu Langat

The fish farm isn't anywhere near to my place, been here a few times but it's always crowded and eventually we didn't dine in.

We were early this round, reached around 6 pm or so and there are plenty of unoccupied tables. Finally!!

VegFF_7

Mango Sticky Rice @ RM 8.00
I was too hungry and started off with a dessert. A good try indeed. Soft glutinous rice with sweet smelling Thai mango surrounded by a "bath" of coconut milk.

We thought the waiting time would be about 30 minutes or so, but surprisingly food was all served within 15 minutes.

VegFF_8

Pakul Belacan @ RM 10.00

VegFF_9

Crab curry @ RM 27.50
It's one of the top rank dish, as recommended by the attendant that takes out order. Below my expectations.

VegFF_10

Fried Squids topped with salted egg sauce @ RM 15.00
Another recommended dish by the attendant and it fails to satisfy me. *sighs*

VegFF_11

Fried Telapia -Thai Style @ RM 24.00
I wanted to have something crispy and crunchy hence suggested to opt for fried fish. Love the taste of munching the fried fish with thai sauce and fresh cut lemon grass- aromatic! But, it's unlikely that you can taste much of the fish flesh.

VegFF_12

BBQ Prawns @ RM 15.00
The most preferred dish of the night! No fancy cooking style and yet pleasing enough.

Honestly, I have expected something better. Probably we just placed the wrong order? Seems like everyone's review towards the restaurant is good. Hhhhhmmmm...... Do share your experience with me, if you don't mind....

Anyway....am happy that I visited.

Big Nose Restaurant @ Kuchai Entrereneur's Park

The name of the restaurant itself caught my attention-Big Nose Restaurant! Not only I am interest to join the crowd at the restaurant for dinner but also to see how big is the owner's nose!

Big Nose Restaurant @ Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park

Fried vegetables- 4 types of beans (四大天王)

Salted Vegetable with Duck Soup
A simple, light and yet delicately tasty bowl of double boiled salted vegetable with roasted duck soup. In fact, the tender roasted duck intensifies the bowl of soup... it's good!

Claypot Beancurd with Roasted Pork
Fried bean curd and roasted pork with mushroom and thick sauce-what do you think? Sharp in taste and simply pleasing.

Steamed Patin Fish
And lastly, the signature dish of Mr. Big Nose's restaurant- steamed river fish. We ordered patin fish also known as silver catfish is a pretty oilish (but not oily) fish but with fine texture. Steamed with light soy sauce, nice and pleasing!

Food is pleasing but quite pricey! I have lost the receipt and name card, can't provide much info here, but it is easy to locate- if you would like to visit!

Seafood @ Restaurant Port Village, Tanjung Harapan, Northport Klang

Port Village, a seafood restaurant that used to be our favorite spot for seafood. It has been a long time since our last visit but the lady owner still remember us. The lady owner chatted with Patrick for a short while and according to her, business is dwindling due to the economic downturn as most of the factories near the industrial area ceased operation.

Feeling blessed, we placed our orders. We were too hungry and sorry for the blur pictures, I even missed taking a few pictures of other dishes.

Port Village Restaurant @ Tanjung Harapan, North Port, Klang
Restaurant was built on the far end of the pier with woods and stilts without much decorations. A restaurant with good service despite their crowds.

Fried potato leafs with sambal belacan @ RM 12.00
Out of words to describe the fried potato leafs. But then again, with a word- Pleasing!

Fried Crispy Red Snapper with Soy Sauce @ RM 24.00
Crispy and crunchy and we can chomp of every part of the fish leaving only the middle bone. Something different from steamed fish.

Gung Bo (Spicy) Fried Mantis Prawn @ RM 18.00
This seems to be like a "must order" dish each time we visit Port Village Restaurant. Mantis prawn fired to crispy and topped with chilly/spicy (gung bo) sauce. Scrumptious sweet and spicy!

Salted Egg Crabs 2kg @ RM 60.00
Tasty! Succulent sweet and saltish fragrantly fried crabs with salted eggs and sugar and garlic.

Still as good as before...... we enjoyed our dinner. Seafood lovers, do head to Port Village Restaurant for good quality seafood that satisfy one's taste buds.

Restaurant Fast Food Fish Head @ Sri Petaling

Stumbled on this restaurant while looking for a place to dine as it is quite late after work that night. It's almost 10 pm and besides food court where else? So, I suggested to look around in Sri Petaling and while Sam was driving, I saw a signboard- Restaurant Fast Food Fish Head. I kinda like ...
fast food fish head !! Obviously, I know it's not a fast food chain restaurant but am sort of curious and interested to dine in....

Restaurant Fast Food Fish Head @ Sri Petaling
Restaurant Fast Foo Fish Head serves fresh water fish dishes as well as other seafood too. Although it's not a fast food chain restaurant, their service was good and the time taken to prepare our food was fast too!

Steamed Cat Fish (白须公) (Ikan Baung)@ RM 5.50/100 gram
Steamed baung fish with fermented black beans and soy sauce topped with thin shredded fried ginger . Steamed fish with fermented black beans and ginger is their signature dish. Fish is fresh and not bony, steamed in a simple style but fulfilling in taste. It's a pleasant one!

Deep fried squids
I love the deep fried squids with salt and pepper mix serve by this restaurant. Although it is a very common dish, most of the time the deep fried squids serve in some eateries are tasteless. The deep fried squids serve here is soft with chewy effect, crispy and flavorful. On top of that, we ordered another stir fried string beans with dried shrimps. Out of words to describe, taste wise- it's good!

As I am done with my dinner, I looked around at the other tables... I see lots of tempting dishes here! And I said to myself- I WILL BE BACK!

One of the great thing in Kuchai is the varieties of eatery around this area. Homey Seafood Shop is the restaurant I visited this time. Sounds like a shop that sells seafood huh! Well, it's not a shop that sells seafood instead it's restaurant that serves seafood and home cook style food.

Salted vegetable soup

Sauteed String beans

Fried vegetables- 4 types of beans (四大天王)

Pork bellies with salted fish in Claypot

Clams in Shao Xing Wine Soup ( Shang Tang Lala)
A pleasing bowl of clam soup, fresh and rich in taste. Cooked with the right portion of Shao XIig wine and shredded ginger. It's irresistable!

Fried prawns with salted eggs
Sweet and salty, fried to crispy. Prawns are fresh and tasteful!

Dishes served are delicious and wholesome in flavor. Homey Seafood Shop is the next best restaurant to home cooking, a restaurant that suits every taste and wallet! Perhaps we should try their crabs next time!
