Another weekly dining session with my fellow colleagues.

The Manhattan Fish Market, a leading seafood casual dining chain that needs no further introduction. Just a quick sharing with everyone.

Man_1

The Manhattan Fish Market @ Mid Valley Megamall
A restaurant chain that serves lip smacking American/Mediterranean western style seafood.

Fried Country Mushrooms
It's a MUST TRY in the menu! Crunchy and tasty. Served with mayonnaise.

Creamy Seafood Pasta @ RM 19.90 per set
Fettuccine prepared with garlic butter sauce served fried squids and fish fillet and garlic bread. Nice!

Baked Fish in Garden Herbs @ RM 19.90 per set
Baked fillet ( choice of Dory/Coley fish) topped with fresh garden herbs served with choice of chips/garlic butter rice. Suggest to go for the garlic butter rice else it's too bland with chips only.

Thai Food @ Rak Thai- Revisit

We have been looking around for delicious mango sticky rice. My best pal told me she found a restaurant that serves something similar like what we had in Bangkok and she refused to tell me the name of the restaurant. Guess she knows I was anxious about it and the other day I text her " Is it Rak Thai?" Hahahahaha....still refuse to tell me...and one fine day she told me you are right! It's Rak Thai and I didn't know the name until I visited the restaurant last week."

We then chosed a day to meet up for dinner at Rak Thai. Ahhhh.... my main purpose is to try their mango sticky rice after our dinner and guess what???............You will know later........

Phad Ki Mau @ RM 8.90
Phad Ki Mau which is the spicy drunken noodles, another popular dish in Thailand. The fried noodles tasted sweet and spicy but the portion of noodles were too little. Could be much better I think!

Thai Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice @ RM 12.90
Pineapple Fried Rice a signature dish of Thailand. The combination of the chunks of juicy pineapple with fragantly fried rice is nothing less than heavenly to eat.

Mango Chicken Chop Rice @ RM 14.90
This is one of the recomended dish in the menu. I mentioned in my earlier post on Rak Thai that I will be back for this and I did! It tasted good at first, sweet, sour and salty. And the more I eat, the more yucky I feel. The combination of the chicken chop and mango is.......how to say? Mmmm......GROSS!!

BBQ Lemongrass Chicken Chop with Rice @ RM 14.90

Fried Sea bass with sauce @ RM 25.90
One of my liking is their deep fried crispy seabass with Thai Chinese sauce. Sauce is sweet, spicy & salty.

Thai BBQ Squids @ RM 9.90 for 4 sticks
Squids were seasoned with turmeric and salt, perfectly grilled to tender perfection. Although not as delicious as what we had in Bangkok, the Thai BBQ squids served in Rak Thai is full of flavor too.

Thai BBQ Prawns @ RM 14.90 for 4 sticks
Prawns were too small and tasteless. Still prefer the one in Malacca.

So here comes my dessert. The delicious mango sticky rice I wanted to try! Once it is served, I start ed scooping and was busy enjoying the dessert. Normally I will be busy taking pics and..................what!!!! I actually forgot to take pictures of the mango sticky rice. I only realised that I have missed taking pictures for the dessert while I was on my way home. ~lol~ It's ok, there shall be another revisit.

Bombay Spice

I am splash with continuous disappointment recently or perhaps am I expecting too much? ? No....I don't think so! The food quality is below par and I am surprised that this Bombay Spice is an outlet of Spice of India (Pavillion, KLCC, The Gardens). Athena in Pavilion which serves Mediterranean food is also one of their outlet and there is another one coming up in Mid Valley which is Spicy Curry!

Bombay Spice @ Mid Valley

Bombay Spice Set meal @ RM 16.90- Bad Pick!
White rice served with dhall, a portion of pickles and THREE SMALL CUBES of curry chicken!

Perhaps I should have see the menu properly, the picture in the menu is so much different with what was served!

Spicy Chicken/Prawn Fried Rice- RM 12.80- Bad Pick!

Masala coffee @ RM 5.30- Bad Pick!
Since this drinks are rated with a star in their menu, we ordered one hot masala tea and one hot masala coffee, when the drinks were served it is not hot at all, worst still it doesn't taste like coffee or tea...I guess this is what they meant! It is special because it's a coffee without coffee taste and a cup of tea without any taste...

Sigh..............I was checking on their company profile Spice Of India, this outlet is not listed in it.....can someone answer to me? Should I visit Spice Of India and Athena in Pavillion, which was in my plan earlier? Will you try?

Nasi Bojari @ Madam Kwan's Mid Valley

It has been a year since we met and she MSN me the other day "I am back". She is back for holiday and I guess she as usual whe would like to spend more time with her family. I replied " Let's meet up for a drink if possible."
We met up for dinner and updated each other with our current lifestyle. I have good news from her as well.....she is planning to shift back to Malaysia. Oh ya, she is Dior my ACCA coursemate, who is currently working overseas, I am so happy with her good news.....In the old time, our class are dominated by the males, only few females and she is the only one that we often keep in touch. I should name her, a successful lady!

Ok....enough of babbling! We had our dinner at Madam Kwan Mid Valley. We both ordered Nasi Bojari, the signature dish of Madam Kwan's Restaurant.

Nasi Bojari @ RM 20.50- Fragantly fried rice served with crispy golden brown fried chicken drumstick, assam prawns and tender chicken/beef? Oh gosh.....is that beef? Dior told me is chicken, I didn't even exactly look at the menu for the descriptions. Was that beef?

Banana Fritters served with Ice Cream

About the dinner.....for me taste is just normal and both of us were so full and, for our date, we had a great time. Dior mentioned that I have changed! She says I improved alot in eating. ~lol~ And wearing colorful dresses.......Thanks friend!

Rak Thai @ Mid Valley Megamall

Rak Thai is situated in the wing that connects Gardens to Mid Valley Megamall, a restaurant with simple decor and yet warming environment. We had a simple and satisfying lunch here. Because we are too hungry and not to spend too much time going through the menu, we ordered their Rak Thai Sets for 2-3 person. Foods served were better than expected and definitely worth it!

Simple decoration of Rak Thai Restaurant and they do sell Thai instant mee and products as well.

Rak Thai Sets (for 2-3 persons) @ RM 48.90++
Crispy Fried Fish Thai Chinese Style
Tom Yam Gai Fried
Kang Kung Thai Style
Thai Stuffed Omellete
Rice (2 bowls) Iced
Pandan Lemongrass Drink ( 2 glass)

Fish were crispy but a bit salty. Still taste great with rice!

Tom Yam Gai, which is their tom yam soup is special, not only because of it's color which is different, soup were tasty as well. May taste better if it is served with seafood instead of chicken. Chicken meat were tasteless though.

Stir fry chicken with basil leaves and chilly wrapped with omelette.Sorry no picture of Kang Kung cooked in Thai Style, I was too hungry and since it's first served, part of it is already in my stomach.

I will never forget this drink! It's a simple but a marvelous drink!

Wanna try their Thai Mango Chicken Chop Rice next round! Yummy yummy~~~ I love mango! And also mango sticky rice! I miss the one I had in Bangkok last time!

Gekikara Ramen @ Oh Sushi! @ Mid Valley Megamall

Very often I said "我要吃大碗面! 我要吃大碗面!" 大碗面 means big bowl noodles in English. The Japanese restaurant "Oh Sushi" has been there for years.....and I guess my first visit was like 4-5 years ago with my sister. And it was then, I start getting addicted with the bowl....no no no...the big bowl noodles as I name it! Don't even know the name of the ramen until my recent revisit since I decided to blog it. It's called Gekikara Ramen! but for me, it's 大碗面! Gekikara Ramen is price at RM 16++ per bowl.

Oh Sushi! restaurant has a big red colored cat logo outside its outlet and which is the same as some other japanese restaurant like Nippon Yataimura .....does this mean that they are under the same management ? Just a little curious about this red cat logo
and besides that, the food they serve are almost the same. Oh Sushi interior design are in classy Japanese style, that allows you to have a comfortable and yet quiet dinner.

This is one of the section that I like most in the restaurant. By the way, can I try those...displayed on the rack? Got to find someone to accompany me...... or else I will look like those broken hearted, sad and lonely lady drinking alone at this corner..

Oh Sushi serves choices of ramen, tepanyaki set and sushis. Sushis are prepared only when you ordered it, and it definitely taste fresh, definitely not like those in Genki Sushi or Sushi King. Besides that, they have set lunch during weekdays as well. Oh Sushi...a Japanase restaurant worth a visit for their
大碗面....hahahahaha..don't bother me, I am starting to miss the taste of Gekikara Ramen now!

Cờ Đỏ Vietnamese Restaurant @ Mid Valley Megamall

This is my first time visiting Cờ Đỏ, just an unplanned visit! Not in a very good mood that day....but that does not affect my demand on quality food.
Cờ Đỏ is a restaurant which serves vietnamese cuisine. In Vietnam, (Cờ Đỏ) is a district (huyện) of Can Tho in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. I guess, this is the reason the restaurant is named Cờ Đỏ, which is the origin place of the food. Well, the environment is quiet and cozy, just nice for a quiet dinner.

After taking orders, the waitress came along with two big chops with some wordings on it and chopped it on the piece of paper placed on the table. I looked at her curiously and she told me it's to wish visitors "Good Luck!" I wonder where the paper goes after we leave the restaurant; rubbish bin? Ohh!!! there goes their wishes...

We had their set meal for one RM 18++ per person, one Chargrilled chicken set and another Village chicken set. All main dishes are topped with mixed vegetable, plus 2 Vietnamese Di Sum of the day; served with rice and soup or soup noodle or cold vermicelli with Frees Ice Lime Tea or soya bean. Food was satisfying only. Only then when I was surfing back at home, I realized that this place is famous with their Vietnamese Dim Sum, perhaps I will be back to try their Dim Sum but I doubt myself the possibility of me returning to the restaurant, as I did read some comment that their Dim Sum doesn't taste nice at all!! Hmmmm....that's it!
