Nippy Noodle Restaurant @ Kuchai Lama

The name of the restaurant caught my attention and as I reached home, I start surfing and do some search on the word "nippy". Then, I learned a new word "nippy".

So, I planned to visit Nippy and see what's so nippy inside.........

Nippy Noodle Restaurant @ Kuchai Lama

Finally, this is what I have found out. Well, the noodles are indeed special , yes! only the noodles. We wanted to try more of their signature dishes, too bad, its sold out!

Their signature dish:
  • Bamboo Noodles with dry sauce
  • Prawn Wanton
  • Pan Fried Dumpling
  • BBQ Pork, Crispy Pork, Roasted Herbal Live & Pork Sausage
About Bamboo Noodles
Bamboo Noodles/Bamboo rise noodles is also known as Jook-Sing Noodles (竹昇麵). It is a rare type of Cantonese noodles prepared using a large bamboo log to tenderized the dough, where the method of preparation is found in some parts of Hong Kong, Macau & Guang Zhou.

Historically, the person who prepares the noodles will ride on the bamboo log to press the dough mixture ( egg , flour etc)

Pickled vegetable with slice pork bamboo noodles @ RM 4.80

Farm Chicken Bamboo Noodle @ RM 7.20

Pan Fried Dumpling
The Pan Fried Dumpling is one of the house's signature dish. There are 2 choices of the dumplings filling that you can choose which is minced pork or prawn with fish paste. As for me, the pan fried dumpling doesn't taste good at all. The others might like it but not me!

The bamboo noodles are special as it is prepared into very thin strands and yet springy and chewy. As for the ingredients used to cook the noodles, the taste is just normal. We wanted to try their roasted pork but it's sold out so we ordered the others.

Anyway, it's a restaurant that one can consider to visit as in the modern days, noodles are prepared using machines but in Nippy Noodle Restaurant, the noodles are prepared using the traditional way which is using the bamboo log. Besides that, they use quality ingredients to prepare the noodles.

The noodle no doubt is nice but the service is very bad. We order two big bowl of noodle but came out are the small one, the waitress repeat the order and she still made the mistake. Then ask us to order a plain noodle which will cost us more than what we suppose to pay for the big one. We order the fried dumpling as well, but they did not give us the ginger and sauces. That was a hot day and their air con is not cold enough, we ask whether can sit under the fan of a long table, the waitress said not allowed. We told her is very warm and whether can turn the fan faster(of another table), she said cannot also cos scared very "noisy". Some more ask us to st outside the shop (smoking area). Terrible!!! Terrible !!! Terrible!!!
