Din Tai Fung @ The Gardens Shopping Mall

Din Tai Fung a Taiwanese chain famous with their signature dish of steamed dumpling arrived in Malaysia in Year 2007. And then, here is my post about Din Tai Fung during my first visit in Year 2009.

About Din Tai Fung
Din Tai Fung was born in 1958. It's a Taiwanese restaurant by Bingyi Yang, originated from Shanxi, China and then moved to Taiwan in Year 1948. They began business by selling Xiao Long Bao, known as soup dumpling. The soup dumpling served was so popular and then the business began to expand. Din Tai Fung was once voted as "Top 10 Restaurants in the world" by The New York Times. (Please visit their official website for further details.)

Din Tai Fung @ The Gardens, Mid Valley

Appetizer by Din Tai Fung @ RM 2.00
An appetizer served cold. Shredded seaweeds & chillies, with shreds of white & firm tou fu. The appetizer tasted sweet and sour and the seaweeds are juicy and crunchy, tasted fresh too.

Soup Dumpling (Xiao Long Bao) @ RM 9.80
It has been years since I tried Xiao Long Bao! I recall the trip to China few yeara ago, there was a meal where we were served with 10 different types of jiao zi & xiao long bao. (I got to find the photos from the to post it). Since then, I never try Xiao Long Bao again until I visited Din Tai Fung.
Ahhh... tasted good!! The dough skin is thin and a bit translucent but could be better if the dough skin is thinner. Xiao Long Bao is best eaten with ginger slivers and vinegar.

About Xiao Long Bao
A dish/dim sum also known as soup dumpling orginated from eastern China. The dumpling is steamed in the bamboo basket and that's how the dish was named. Xiao Long Bao are actually steamed buns with translucent skin filled with meats and soup in it.

Cha Jiang La Mian @ RM 12.00
La mian also known as hand pulled noodles are thin and smooth. Topped with a portion of minced pork cooked with fermented soy beans and preserved vegetables. Tasted sweet and salty! An appetizing noodle dish!

Shrimp Pork Fried Rice @ RM 14.50
A plate of simple fried rice. Frangantly fried with shrimps and pork.

Din Tai Fung, a world recognised eatery that sucessfully spread their wings around the world. Perhaps you might consider to try too!
