It has been quite sometime since I greeted everyone with my "Have A Wonderful Sunday! "post. I have been very busy, busy spending more than 12 hours in the office everyday and expecting this to continue for the next coming few months. Oh dear....... what more can I ask??- A long sleep on Sundays of course!

So, it's Sunday! and I am restless. What more? A cup of coffee please??

Otak otak Crepe Set @ RM 12.60 (serve with Segafreddo coffee)

The Otak otak crepe was excellent! Hot, spicy & tasty. Crepe filled with spicy fish paste and hot mozzarella cheese then topped with black pepper cream sauce. Can you imagine the combination of all the infrgedients that I have named? It's marvelous!

For all the breakfast sets, it comes with Segafreddo Coffee. ANd if you would like to opt for other coffees, add-on RM 2.00 and go for it! I did!

Single Origin Gourmet Coffee- Java Arabica Jampit

It's brewed in a vacum coffee maker for 50 seconds and the result was indeed good! Clean, crisp, smooth, strong & rich ! According to the owner of Coffee Ritual, Single Origin Gourment Coffee taste better without additives (milk or sugar). I tried my first sip without additives before adding some sugar and it was indeed aromatic.

Light and fresh, that's how I would describe the black pepper chicken sandwich. It is served with plentiful of green vegetables and it makes me feel so healthy.

I am quite happy with my visit to coffee ritual. Being served by the friendly owners with passion for coffee. Am delighted with their menu too! It's health concious and it covers food for vegetarians as well.

Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa Kampung Baru

Nasi Lemak, one of the national dish of Malaysia. A dish that is eaten at any time and easily spotted at every street corners to local themed cafes/restaurants.

At all times, my craving for Nasi Lemak ends at CT Garden . But this time is different, we were at Setapak last week and I saw this quite attracting greeny signboard "Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa Kampung baru (since 1973)", one of the famous Nasi Lemak eating place in town and then we popped in to have our brunch!

The rice cooked with coconut milk and screwpine leaves were great and aromatic! Too bad, I don't really fancy the sweet adn welcoming sambal as it is not spicy at all. And it seems that the only thing that pleased me is the glass of Assam Boi juice that I have ordered....

Not that the food is not nice, but expected something much better. Would probably visit their first outlet and Kampung Baru. Any differences? Anyone?

A restaurant well renovated and perfectly decorated that provides diners are cozy, relaxing and comfortable ambience. Service was good too! The most important, it is worth a visit for good food! And, the restaurant is currently having the All you can eat promotion @ RM 54++ per person!

All you can eat menu, order any dishes from the menu and they will prepare it for you! It's definitely not those all you can eat dishes already prepared and placed on a long table and customers serve themselves.

Aromatic fried rice with spicy paste. Sparking in flavor!

Tang hoon (glass noodles) - Obviously, I don't this is a clay pot but the dish was great too! Served with generous portion of fresh prawns and delivered with slippery and appetizing glass noodles.

Seafood Otak otak in coconut

Among all the dishes that we have ordered, the seafood otak otak served in coconut is the dish that amused me most as it is much different from our local otak otak (fish cake). Soft and watery sweet otak otak served in coconut. Again, generous portion of seafood. Pleasing in flavor!

Spicy Lima Leave Soft Shell Crab
More like fried sweet soft shell crabs. Tasted so-so for me!

Songkla Lemon Steamed Fish

Another best dish of the night! Spicy and sour enough leaving a lingering aftertaste. Fresh red snapper steammed with chilli padi and lime juice. Wonderful!

Sweet Buffet Set by LuLu Nyonya Kueh

Kuih muih are the Asian cakes and pastries. Kuih muih also refers to a wide selection of bite sized dessert, most of the time sweet but not all.

Nyonya kuih are similar to Malay kuih muih as both are from the same family. There are no specific ways to differentiate Nyonya kuih and Malay kuihs. The Peranakans (Baba & Nyonya) took heavy influences on Malay culinary and hence the food are identical to both culture. The only difference is that Peranakans do consume porks and in certain preparation of food items/dishes, porks are one of the ingredients used. That reminds me of Nyonya Zhang (Nyonya dumplings), one of my favorite.

Well, that's a brief introduction for everyone.

Have you seen the LuLu Nyonya Kueh stalls at the shopping malls- Mid Valley Megamall, Sungei Wang Plaza, Amcorp Mall, Great Eastern Mall etc??? The LuLu Nyonya kueh never fails to attract patrons as the display of colorful and wide selection of kuih muihs looks tempting at all time.

Beautifully presented and definitely looks tempting. All the kuih muih are fresh and newly prepared. Tasted good and pleasing too. And if you are planning for an event, here is a good recomendation for you!

Was chatting about coffee with my best pal and I recalled Pick n' Brew. So the next thing we do is to set a date for a visit and that would be on Sunday!

Potato & Leek Soup

Leek a type of vegetable which belongs along to the garlic and onion generation and potatoes boiled with butter and cream. Soft, rich & creamy.

Penne Carbonara served with beef bacon (opted for chicken ham) in cream sauce @ RM 18.00

The cream sauce taste a little bit different. I bet 3 of us preferred something richer and heavier in taste as this tasted a little bit light for us.

Angel Hair Marinara served with prawn, green mussels, fish & squids in tomato sauce @ RM 22

I had the Angel Hair Marinara and it seems pleasing for me. The Italian tomato sauce used to prepared the plate of spaghetti was great! Seafood served are fresh too!

Grilled Vegetable Ciabatta @ RM 18.00

Ciabatta the Italian white bread filled with zucchini, mushroom, aubergine, tomato, onion, capsicum and ham. We requested the chef to replace the ham with fried eggs and remove the onion as on of the guest of the day is a Vegetarian. Served in big portion. Looks good to me!

A good piece of aromatic freshly baked banana flavored carrot cake. Wonderful!!

Apple Crumble Cheesecake @ RM 9.00

Apple Souffle @ RM 15.00

I was so excited when I saw "Souffle" in their menu. Too bad this is not the souffle I wanted to try! I wanted to try the baked light and fluffy souffle actually. Anyway, at least I tried something different!! The Apple Souffle by Pick n Brew was good too. Something real fresh in taste! The other smaller dessert is more like a mango mouse.

Here comes my coffee! I was asking for something mild and the attendant recommended Nouvelle. A mixture of Brazil & Kenya coffee that is ~Smooth and mellow accentuated by a citrus-like flavor~ Was too mild for me though. Taste wise- satisfacory.

By the way, does anyone know any places that serves coffee luwak in Malaysia?

Tapas @ La Bodega Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Tapas? Spanish food anyone? Sentidos @ Starhill serves real good Tapas so is La Bodega too. A brief dinner with some of my colleagues last week and we went to La Bodega Pavilion KL for Tapas.

About Tapas

Tapas are little dishes of Spain serves as appetizer/snacks/finger food before lunch or dinner. These little dishes are prepared in many ways- cold, warm and hot-battered,fried or steamed.

In most of the restaurants, tapas are now served as entire cuisine. Many different types of Tapas are ordered and combined as a full meal.
