One of the key dishes in Malay cuisine is Asam Pedas, so tasty that it is often found on the menu. Malay food is generally spicy, as spices is a big part on the cooking process. The best places to sample traditional Malay asam pedas is in Kota Laksamana, Melaka. There are two shop which is serves delicious asam pedas.

Claypot Asam Pedas
The claypot asam pedas are served with rice, half of a salted egg and stir fried cabbage. The pot of asam pedas are super duper spicy. Spicy enough to make you explode. Asam pedas cooked with sting ray, the asam soup tasted sour and fiery hot. Extraordinary satisfying dish!

Fried Noodles
Besides claypot asam pedas, the restaurant serves various fried noodles and roti canai too. The malay style fried noodles are appetising too!

Another favorite spot of the locals for tea drinking session. The restauarant serves asam pedas with various type of fish, so you may choose your prefered fish cooked.
