The Smoke House Restaurant & Bar @ Bangsar

Hi... I am back!! Here is an equation to explain everything:

Tired + Lazy + Sick + Busy = slow updates.

Forgive me for that!

Here is another update- The Smoke House Restaurant & Bar by SMOKEHOUSE HOTEL & RESTRAURANT CHAIN. I have always wanted to visit the outlet in Ampang but am not so sure if it is still there.

Anyway, I visited The Smoke House Restaurant at Bangsar- a restaurant that serves traditional English and Authentic Thai Cuisine ( by Chef Noi, former Head Chef of well known Rama V Restaurant).

Kung Pun Ooi @ Rm 15.00
Minced chicken and shrimp wrapped in sugarcane. Love the crispness of the bread crumbs and the tasty mixture of minced meat and shrimp with slight sweetness in the middle- a result from the sugarcane skewer.

Pasta with roast chicken @ RM 15.00
Pasta's texture - just nice. Sauce was good too. The only not so satisfying part would be the roasted chicken chunks.

SH_8

Kao Pad Pao @ RM 15.00
Fried rice with crab meat.

SH_9

Plamuek Yang @ RM 18.00
Grilled squid served with tangy, sweet and spicy sauce. Well marinated and perfectly grilled. Love it so much- I would probably go back only for this and some beer/ wine? *Grin*

Bombe Alaska @ RM 28.00
And lastly, a dessert to end the dining session. My long awaited for- Bombe Alaska!! Yummy!! Ice cream with nata de coco with cookies as based wrapped within the baked meringue and then fired up with rum. A satisfying flaming dessert!

Bombe Alaska

Baked Alaska also known as glace au four, omelette à la norvégienne, Norwegian omelette and omelette surprise is a dessert made of ice cream placed on top of a pie, cookies, sponge cakes or puddings. (Source from Wikipedia)

Whereelse Bombe Alaska, is another variation. Dark rums are poured over Baked Alaska with lights up . The heat turns down and the whole dessert and it is flambéed while being served.

I believe there are more to be explored in this restaurant. All looks tempting though! If you are planning for a quiet dinner or to unwind after a busy day, here's a another suggestion.

Came across your food blog while looking for Port Village Seafood in Klang. Found it now. Thanks to your posting!

If you like western food, try the strip of lovely restaurants along Jalan Bangkung in Bangsar. Brilliant mix of halal and non-halal restaurants ranging from Leonardo's Wine Loft & Dining Room to Opus Bistro and Cava. There's even a Chinese there called Four Seas. Reservations often required. Enjoy!
