Strawberry Moment Dessert Cafe @ Brinchang, Cameron Highland

DESSERTS for the STRESSED.

Strawberry Moment Dessert cafe, an affiliate of Green View Garden offers exciting strawberry desserts. The tempting desserts are prepared with strawberries and hydroponic vegetables from their own farm.

A week before my visit to Cameron Highland, I have been looking around for details and I came a cross an article recommending. What else?- Strawberry Moment Dessert Cafe is a must visit for a dessert lover like me!!

Strawberry strudels @ RM 6.90 per slice
Strawberry strudels is one of the cafe's signature dessert. Strudels, believed to be an Austrian originated cuisine is a sweet layered pastry made from a thin sheet of dough rolled up with filling and baked.
Pastry tasted slightly salty, layered and filled with custard mixed with cinnamon powder and fresh cream. The sweetness of the filling goes well with the fresh strawberries.

Strawberry Milkshake
Fresh, sweet and tangy! Get a boost of Vitamin C with this drink. A drink that seduces one's taste bud.

Strawberry Chocolate Crepe @ RM 9.90
Crepe, a french origin thin pancake. Strawberry Chocolate Crepe cafe serves sweet crepe topped with fresh strawberries served with chocolate syrup. I like the presentation of this dessert, as taste wise, nothing much to describe as I knew I can prepare this back at home. Well, it's always- The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak!! One fine day, I will try to prepare this......... one fine day.......

Green View Garden @ Cameron Highland

Having a great retreat from the city, you might not forgotten your dear ones back at home. Besides key chains and fridge magnets, why not, get some delicious local food products for them?
If you are planning to do so, Green View Garden's latest outlet at Brinchang town would be best place to shop!!

The outlet offers varieties of premium product and you probably ended up wanting to buy everything!

Jams, Strawberry coffee/cappuccino powder, chocolates, cookies and etc.

My favorite among all, the coffee milk chocolate and strawberry milk and white chocolate. The coffee milk chocolate are round in shape and in chocolate, there is a coffee bean . Take a bite and you can hear the crunching sound of the coffee bean. Not suitable- for kids or if you are not a fan of coffee. Taste is quite strong and it definitely makes you stay awake!!

As for the strawberry milk and white chocolate, there are dried strawberries in each chocolate. Bitter, sweet and sour. Love the tangy feel of it!! Anyone, going to Cameron Highland? Please get me a dozen of strawberry milk and white chocolate!
Sorry... out of pics!! As I have been delaying my post, I have finished eating everything

Green View Garden has its own farm at Kampun Raja, which is further down from Tringkap. It's an integrated one stop tourist centre. A Too bad, we didn't make it. Other than this, Green View Garden owns a cafe too! A dessert cafe- Strawberry Moment! Don't miss it too!!

Charcoal Steamboat @ Cameron Highlands

What's for dinner at Cameron Highlands? There are many Chinese restaurants at Brinchang town and most of the restaurants serves charcoal steamboat by evening. At noon, these restaurants serves typical Chinese dishes. I had a great vegetable lunch myself and am not posting it as I was too hungry when we reach there- No pictures captured.

Be assured with crowds by night time. Although there are countless (okay... I didn't count) restaurants that serves charcoal steamboat, each of the restaurant are fully occupied.

Charcoal Steamboat with tall funnel
Unlike the steamboat we had in other places, at Cameron Highlands, most of the restaurant serves steamboat with charcoal. Charcoals are lighted and a pot of tasty soups are place on top with a tall funnel in the middle. Having steamboat using electrical pot or gas stove and charcoal is different. Charcoal steamboat does not allow you to adjust the heat setting. The soup keeps boiling all the way and it tends to be more aromatic. I prefer charcoal steamboat with a tall funnel or else you will see glimpse of fire shooting up from the funnel.

@ RM 20 ++ per person

Having steamboat is the perfect option especially at the cooling hill named- Cameron Highland.

Visit Malaysia- Cameron Highlands, Pahang

Cameron Highlands is Malaysia's largest hill resort. Standing at an elevation of 1524 above sea level. The highland has a consistent cool climate throughout the year. It was first discovered by William Cameron in 1885 by a British government surveyor during a mapping expedition on the Titiwangsa Range (Perak/Pahang border).

Failing to mark the discovery during the expedition, the location of the plateau was confirmed by Sir Hugh Low during the subsequent expedition. Si r Hugh Low suggested that this would be an ideal location for a retreat and farmland. A narrow path to the highland was then cut through the jungles of the highlands.
Since then, the plateau remained untouched until 1920s when the narrow bridle path leading up to the mountain was improved.

In 1925, Sir George Maxwell visited the mountain and eventually led the development of the hill station now known as CAMERON HIGHLANDS.

Cameron Highland, the fertile mountain's key attractions are:
  • Tea Plantations
  • Vegetable Farms
  • Strawberry Farms
  • Flower/Cactus Nurseries
  • Markets
  • Honey Bee Farms
Next few post will be on those places that I have visited.

Century Pines Resort @Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands

There are just so many accommodations available in Cameron Highlands that and you might not know where to stay . Accommodations ranges from budget hotels, to apartments, service apartments, chalets, hotels and resorts. Myself made a reservation at Century Pines Resort at Tanah Rata town particularly because Brinchang town are more crowded as most markets and farms as well as eateries are concentrated at Brinchang town. Might be a liltle jam during weekends or public holidays.

Century Pines Resort, a property of Thong Sin Group is located at Tanah Rata town, which is about 10 minutes drive to Brinchang Town. Conveniently located in the midst of Tanah Rata town, right opposite the police station.

Deluxe Room

Although I can afford to buy drinks... but I find it quite strange that this hotel doesn't even have a complimentary of 2 bottles of mineral water in the room. Other than this, overall the hotel room is clean and considered reasonable for the price paid. Nothing to shout about actually...

Tea Plantations @ Cameron Highlands

A trip to Cameron Highlands would be incomplete without a visit to the tea plantation. Cameron Highlands is fondly known as the "Giant Green" carpet of Malaysia. The tea plantations is one of the key attraction of the highland.

The 3 tea plantations are as follow:

Boh Tea Centre- Fairlie Tea Garden @ Ringlet

Sungai Palas Tea Plantation- Boh Tea Centre

80 years of Umpph!! Boh Plantations is the largest black tea manufacturer in Malaysia was founded by JA Rusell in 1929. Today Boh Tea Plantation owns four tea garden- Habu, Fairlie Tea Garden & Sungai Palas Tea Garden, Cameron Highland. And another one at Bukit Cheeding, Selangor

Routes uphill are rather narrow. While cornering up hill, do give a honk to alert the oncoming car from the opposite direction.

Sungai Palas Tea Plantation would be the most perfect visit. Perfect view with breathtaking and eye soothing green sceneries. You may want to go for the factory tour provided by Boh Plantation. Too bad.. it's close on Monday. But then again, there is a video room for visitors to watch the videos on tea processing.

Both Fairlie plantation and Sungai Palas plantatian has a tea centre for visitors to enjoy a cup of tea while enjoying cooling breeze and the beautiful piece of green carpet sceneries.

Shouldn't miss the Sungai Palas Tea Centre at all!! It offers spectacular views from a 20 foot overhanging platform.

Ahhh....... how relaxing....

For more information visit: http://boh.com.my/

Cameron Bharat Tea Plantation- Cameron Valley Tea Centre @ Tanah Rata

Besides Boh Tea Plantation, Cameron Bharat Plantation is the second largest tea producer in Malaysia. There are two Cameron Valley Tea House between Ringlet and Tanah Rate. Just good enough for one to stop for some stretching after a traveling a long journey uphill. It's an irresistible stopover!! A good stop to refresh yourself and take in the lush view of the tea gardens , relaxingly sipping a cup of freshly brewed tea with a scones or strawberry cheesecake.

Bharat Tea Plantation produces highlands tea- a premium quality black tea as well.

Remember, tea plantations is a MUST VISIT!!

Kea Farm & Vegetable Market

Vegetables, strawberries and flower farms can be located throughout the highland. One of the most popular farm at Cameron Highlands would be Kea farm.

Kea farm is located at north of Brinchang, a walking distance to Equatorial Hotel. It's one of the most worth to visit farm at the highland.

Kea Farm @ Brinchang

Vegetable market

Right at the entrance of key farm, there is a vegetable market, one of the most famous tourist spot to grab fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers.

Vegetables prices are reasonable. Cactus and flowers like roses are real cheap here!

Besides Kea farm, there are more smaller farms scattered throughout the highlands. Make a stop if you would like too!! If it is only 2 days 1 night trip... you got to plan the farm visiting schedule- cause there are too many farms to visit!
